その強烈な印象のストレリチアで「新感覚のキルトを世に出したい！」と新素材のアイロンシートを研究。
トップデザイン兼キルティングシートを開発し、キルト作品にふんだんに使用。
約１年半にわたってアイロンシートという素材を、キルトに使う為の研究を重ねてきた作品が受賞したことで、アイロンシートアップリケという素材と手法を広めるきっかけとなる。
